Volodymyr Yermolenko (PhD in Political Studies, EHESS, 2011) is a philosopher, journalist, and writer. President of PEN Ukraine, analytics director at Internews Ukraine, editor-in-chief of UkraineWorld.org, a multimedia project in English about Ukraine, and board chair of Ukraine’s International Renaissance Foundation (Open Society Foundations). Associate professor at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Author of the podcasts “Explaining Ukraine” and “Thinking in Dark Times” (in English); co-author (with Tetyana Ogarkova) of the “Kult” podcast (in Ukrainian). His scholarly books and novels have won numerous prizes, including multiple Book of the Year prizes in Ukraine. His texts, lectures, and interviews have been published in Ukrainian and international media, including BBC, CNN, Al Jazeera, France 24, The Economist, Le Monde, Financial Times, New York Times, Newsweek, and others.
