Historian Olesia Isaiuk graduated from the Lviv Franko National University in 2009 and completed her PhD in Lublin in 2016. She works at the Research Centre of the Liberation Movement and the Lontsky Prison Memorial Museum in Lviv. Her popular biography of UPA leader Roman Shukhevych was published in 2015, and since then she has been engaged in researching Ukrainian victims of the Third Reich, including compiling a list of Ukrainian political prisoners at Auschwitz.
