Mitchell A. Orenstein is a professor of Russian and East European studies at the University of Pennsylvania and a senior fellow of the Foreign Policy Research Institute’s Eurasia Program. His research focuses on the political economy of transition in Central and Eastern Europe, the role of ideas in economic policy reform, and Russia’s hybrid war on the West. Among his many published works are four prize-winning books on political economy and international affairs.
