James Gatica Matheson is a Chilean journalist based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He holds an MA in International Journalism (Cardiff University, 2019) and a Diploma in International Studies (Universidad de Chile, 2022). Over the past decade, James reported global news as a foreign correspondent for Chile's Canal 13 and now collaborates with TVN, Ex-Ante, and ADN Radio. He has also contributed to BBC News and TRT World. Recently he has covered major events such as the Russo-Ukrainian war, the 2023 Argentine election, the 2022 Brazilian election, the Coronation of King Charles III, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. James is a member of the Argentine Council for International Relations (CARI)’s Youth Group and of Chevening Alumni Chile, and he is a Communication Consultant for the World Bank Group.
